You Me At Six guitarist Max Helyer offers up his tips to make camping at a festival bearable.
Sleeping in a tent can be hell at festivals, my tip would be to leave it open, so you get air flow throughout the tent. If you have a little roof part on your tent, leave it open. Best for circulation, if not in true festival style get smashed.
The most important thing is having tons of water stored, as you are most likely to be hungover and the weather is gonna be good being dehydrated in the morning is the worst.
Some top tips would be taking a few soft mats, so your back isn’t destroyed every morning. Nothing worse than having a wrecked back at a festival trying to have fun.
If you are like me and want to have fun at a festival, just get as hammered as possible and enjoy every minute so when it does come to sleeping in a tent, you just pass out and don’t remember the sleep at all. Works like a treat!
