Here are two more signs Friendly Fires are about to drop new music

We’d hold on to your hats, Dear Reader. This looks like it’s about to blow.

A couple of weeks ago, we speculated that Friendly Fires may be about to drop new music. Our evidence, in the most part, came from social media postings from vocalist Ed Macfarlane, in particular one which seemed to feature the filming of a video.

Now, it looks like we were definitely on the money.

There are two new clues that suggest new material from Friendly Fires is upon us. Firstly, and most obviously, comes the band’s Facebook. As NME points out, the band have updated their profile images, which tends to happen right before a big announcement, most commonly the release of new music.

But that isn’t all. Until today, the Twitter account @friendly_fires was a fan run affair, rounding up speculation on their sure to be triumphant return. That’s not the case anymore, however. It’s been handed over to the band – presumably for them to use as part of their big come back – and they’ve wiped it shiny clean ready, with a bio linking to an equally sparkly Instagram profile.

All this activity suggests to us that we should expect some more news Really Very Soon Indeed. It’s been six years since the band released their last album, ‘Pala’, so it’s definitely due.

If you want to check out what else we’ve uncovered, head here for the rest of the evidence, including a first hand claim from one of our favourite bands.
