St. Tropez have released a new video for ‘Democracy’ – check it out below, first on Dork. It’s an odd-ball clip that features a mysterious bloke in a very nice shiny suit wandering around the desert.
The band explain: “In the video a ‘man without qualities’ travels through the surrealistic landscapes of Utah, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. Instead of the classical western hero with an innate sense of doing the right thing, this man has no characteristics. He only reflects his surroundings; no dreams, hopes or ideals. Although the faceless protagonist would like to blend into the landscape, anonymously disappearing into the overwhelming vista his shiny suit only makes him stand out in the desert sun.”
‘Democracy’ is taken from the Dutch group’s new EP ‘Debate’, due out on 23rd February. It’s a record that deals with fear, populism, debate, naivety, nationalism, hope, politics, immigration and democracy.
