Self Esteem – that’s Rebecca Taylor out of Slow Club, if you didn’t know – has dropped the video for her debut solo single, ‘Your Wife’.
Speaking about the clip, Rebecca explains: “I wanted to make a video that looked like the inside of my head. A world where we are sexy yet disgusting, we eat Domino’s pizza like caviar, everyone is tight and oiled and I bathe in pre-brexit 5ers. Welcome.”
It’s taken from her upcoming ‘Your Wife EP’, due digitally (29th September) and on 12” vinyl (24th November) via Kick N Clap.
“All I listen to is Destiny’s Child, Rihanna, and Kanye West. I love that kind of music. As a drummer as well, I’m much more connected to big tribal beats,” Rebecca told Dork.
“I went in the studio imagining we were making a Rihanna record, but with me singing and my lyrics, so we took it back to the two things I can offer which is harmonies and melodies. It was a different way of approaching things.”
